At First Congregational we celebrate God's Word and Sacraments as outward signs of his gift of Grace.  Each Sunday we gather at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary to worship together as family.  On the first Sunday of each month, as well as on Ash Wednesday and Maundy (Holy) Thursday, we celebrate the Lord's supper to which all are welcome regardless of denominational affiliation.

Sacraments and Other Rites:

We will be pleased to celebrate the sacrament of Baptism with you during a regular Sunday service.  Please contact the Pastor to make arrangements.

Weddings are a joyful time for families and we are more than happy to make your wedding a special event.  Church membership is not a requirement . Please contact the Pastor to make arrangements.

Confirmation is celebrated with all young adults as they progress through our religious education program.  Upon the consensus of the student, parent, teacher and pastor a special covenanting ceremony will be celebrated on the Feast of Pentecost.

Anointing of the Sick, as it is bespoken in the Epistle of St James is celebrated with those members of the community who suffer from illness and old age.  A special healing ceremony will be held quarterly or as needs develop.

Funerals and Memorial Services are a celebration of both the life of the member of the Christian Community and our anticipation of the resurrection of the dead. As such, we encourage all Christians to come to our community in the grief for consolation, support and prayer.

Reception of New Members is celebrated as needed throughout the year.  Covenanting with the community of faith at First Congregational is considered a joyful experience of our oneness in the Lord.  Please contact the Pastor to make arrangements.

Fellowship:

Each Sunday, after the morning service, we celebrate our fellowship in the Lord by sharing time and refreshments in the Mayflower Room.  All are welcome to participate and get to know us.

Lent at First

The Lenten season begins Wednesday February 9 with a special service at 7:30 pm.  Lent is that time of our faith journey when we, like Christ in the desert, take the time to look into our lives and at the gospel message.

During our Lenten journey we will take time to prepare ourselves for the great Easter Feast.  We will spend Tuesday evenings looking at the history of Christian faith as lived by individuals in many ages.  Join us on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm in the pastor's study at the church beginning February 22.

Worldwide Marriage Day

Celebrate your marriage with us on Sunday, February 6 at the 11 am service.  Whether you have been married for a few days or decades this is a great opportunity to renew your pledges of love and fidelity.

SARAH is Coming to First

Social Action Response and Help is an opportunity for you to make a difference in the life of our community and the world.  Each week  we will work together during our Fellowship hour to live out our call to service.
